The logo of this Masonic year is a ten pointed star represented in black and white for the checkered pavement of King Solomon's Temple. The ten pointed star or blazing sun, is also known as the all seeing eye. The Eye is a powerful image that represents, in my opinion, Masonic vision or foresight. Accompanying the star in my logo are the words "Nous Pathein Renatus," meaning "We are united in initiation." Behold how good and how pleasant it is for men to dwell together in unity."
Recently, I had the opportunity to work in unity with many of the brothers in this lodge to develop a Vision and Mission statement for our lodge. That Vision and the strategies defined in the Mission will fill the year ahead with worthy achievements. Hopefully the kind of achievements that we honor in our remote ancestors, and that established this lodge while founding the city in which we live.
Our Vision Statement reads as follows: To be known as a Lodge that ensures the advancement of Freemasonry and the quality of the Masonic experience.
The Mission Statement is: Accomplishing the advancement of Freemasonry and quality of the Masonic experience by initiating well qualified men, providing quality Masonic education and engaging all members in continuing Masonic fellowship and activities. As we have united together to have a Vision for this lodge so did our remote ancestors. Great achievements came with their commitment to quality. Though our age is different the Vision is the same and with a commitment to quality our remote descendants will honor what we do.
Good men do not necessarily need freemasonry… freemasonry needs good men. That makes it our job to stand out among good men so that we may truly display the " beauties of godliness" and represent our sacred Art. Art that transforms and empowers good men to be better.
